About the Design

Once I was invited to the far east of Russia, to Sakhalin Island, to paint the walls in the hostel. I visited the local museum of local lore and was very inspired by the culture of the Ainu people and their ornaments. Under this impression, I drew a whale, because Sakhalin is surrounded by the ocean.
For me, the whale is a great being. Strong, strong, but also kind and intelligent.
